| How can any shape combine the extreme needs of Fanatic´s 2006 PWA Freestyle World Champion Gollito Estredo, with a rider looking to improve his basic freestyle skills? A task really only possible with the best CAD data base and especially of course loads of experience by our shaper Sebastian Wenzel and his R&D team.
Our Skate freestyle boards are not just team rider boards for an extreme discipline, in fact they are some of our most loved and sold boards in the line. Whether in use at El Yaque by Gollito inventing new moves on a daily basis, or just a stoked rider learning his first basic freestyle move like a duck jibe – the Skates offer the ultimate combination of manoeuvrability, early planing and acceleration. The early planing performance of the Skates has improved again, with a slightly straighter rocker in the tail, as well as a little extra volume in that area. This helps to get the Skate on the plane with the lightest gust and gives additional security for the latest freestyle tricks.
Freestyle boards need to be extremely light for jumping and manoeuvring, but also have to put up with a lot of use and abuse – our standard Skate has set the standard for years as one of the lightest, yet most durable boards available. The challenge to make an even lighter Skate was therefore irresistible! By combining the finest materials available and the use of the Fanatic ultra lite finish, new record weights have been reached. Using a full biax carbon bottom layup and optimising various reinforcement areas ensures a substantial weight decrease, whilst dramatically increasing stiffness and performance. Not only does the TE benefit from a lighter weight, it also has a unique optic with an ultra light finish and exclusive airbrush graphic on the rail and base. With the Fanatic logo shining through in technora kevlar and carbon look, every freestyler´s dream comes true! |
